I was skeptical of the built-in LED thing as a gimmick, but reading in the tent at night with a soft glow instead of headlamp glare is genuinely great. The tent itself is the Copper Spur quality you'd expect — spacious for two, featherweight for what it is, and quick to pitch with two people. We had a full day of rain in the Sawtooths and stayed completely dry. The two doors mean no climbing over each other, which my wife appreciated. Vestibules fit both packs easily. Worth every penny.
The built-in glow makes camp so cozy. Dried out fast and survived a windy night in the Uintas.
My husband and I have used this on six trips since spring, from desert to alpine, and it has never let us down. Light enough that we split it between our packs without noticing. The mtnGLO switch is easy to find in the dark, which sounds silly until you're fumbling at 2am. Setup is now under five minutes for us. Genuinely the best tent we've owned.
The HyperBead fabric sheds water impressively and it's roomy for a 2-person ultralight. My only gripe is that you need to baby the fabric a bit — no stuffing it away wet, careful with the guy points. Durability seems fine so far.
Tons of interior volume compared to other UL tents we looked at. LED lighting is a fun touch the kids love. Pitch takes practice the first time, then it's quick.
Quality is there — light, dry, well-made. But the mtnGLO LEDs are a bit bright for a small tent when you're trying to sleep, and the light run position is awkward to reach. Otherwise very happy.
The tent is wonderful but the integrated light strip stopped working after my third trip. Ended up returning it since lighting was half the reason I bought this model.
