The stretch fabric makes this feel like a midlayer with puffy warmth — I can rock climb, shovel snow, or reach for a pack strap without the jacket fighting me. 700-fill down has handled everything from 15-degree belay pitches to casual winter hikes. Best down piece I own, and I've owned plenty.

The Stretchdown Light nails the warmth-to-weight balance and the double-weave fabric seems far more durable than typical down jackets. My only gripe is the hood fits a bit loose over a beanie and doesn't cinch down as far as I'd like. Otherwise a five-star jacket, especially at 57% off.

I've been skiing and splitboarding in this thing all season and it's been flawless. The stretch panels mean I never feel sealed in like a sausage the way I did in my old boxy down jacket, and it breathes surprisingly well on the skin track. Warm enough down to about 15°F with a base layer. Fabric shows zero wear despite tree runs and pack straps.

Construction and stretch are excellent, no complaints there. But as a 'Light' model it really is light on warmth — below freezing with just a tee underneath I got chilly standing around. As an active midlayer in the 30s it's superb. Just calibrate your expectations.

I'm 45 and pretty picky about gear after decades of buying and returning. This hoody gets the fit right — trim through the body, room in the shoulders, sleeves long enough. The down distribution stays even, the double-weave shrugs off brush, and the full zip makes temperature management easy on uphills. At $83 it's absurd value.

Bought this specifically for winter alpine starts and it's been excellent on approach and at anchors. Stretches through the shoulders when pitching out moves, packs down small, and the RDS down certification matters to me. Would love slightly deeper hand pockets but that's nitpicking.

Bought this as a gift for my son-in-law who's an avid hiker and he hasn't taken it off since Christmas. He says the stretch fabric is unlike any down jacket he's used and it's become his go-to for everything from winter camping to shoveling the driveway. I tried it on in the kitchen and immediately ordered one for myself. Warm without being bulky is exactly right.

Loved this jacket for the first two weeks — warm, stretchy, great fit. Then the main zipper slider gave out mid-hike and I couldn't close the jacket at all. Maybe a lemon, but for a $195 jacket I expected better QC. The warranty process is ongoing.
