That's honestly the best description — it feels like a wearable blanket. I've stood around at belay stances in single digits and stayed warm the whole time. The stretch panels mean I can still move and even pack up gear without feeling like a puffy marshmallow.

Bought this for winter crag days and it has not disappointed. Toasty during long belays, and the length covers my hips so no cold spots when sitting. It's not super compressible, so it eats a bit of pack space, but the warmth-to-comfort ratio is worth it.

No doubt it's warm — campfire evenings in December were no problem at all. It is heavier and bulkier than I expected for the price point, though. Fine for car camping and the crag, but I'd want something lighter for backcountry trips.

I wear this thing to the grocery store, to the climbing gym, everywhere. My kids call it my blanket coat and honestly that's accurate. The hood fits over a beanie, the pockets are perfectly placed, and it shrugs off wind.

The stretch fabric really does make a difference compared to my old down parka — I can belay, drive, and cook in this thing comfortably. Hood cinches down well in wind. Only wish the chest pocket were slightly bigger for my phone.

The warmth and build quality seem great, which makes this more frustrating. I ordered my usual large and it fit like a crop jacket — way shorter than the product photos suggest on my 6'2" frame. Exchanging for an XL and hoping for the best, but check the length specs before buying if you're tall.
