Under two pounds for a bag I can actually sleep in is remarkable. Spent a week on the JMT with nights in the low 30s and slept comfortably every night. The long size fits my 6'3" frame without the classic mummy toe squeeze. Packs down smaller than a Nalgene.

Warm, light, compresses tiny. No complaints.

The 850 down is everything people say—lofty, fast to warm up, and the temp rating feels honest. My only caution is the shell fabric is thin; I babied it the whole trip. Handle it carefully and it'll be a winner.

I'm a cold sleeper and normally bring a liner everywhere. Didn't need it once with this bag. The hood cinches down to a cozy little cave and the draft collar actually blocks cold air instead of being decorative. Zips snag free on the long left zip even at 2am half asleep.

Quality is clearly high and it's impressively light. But at 46" chest I find the shoulder girth tight and it compresses the down where I need it most. If you're slim, five stars. If you're built like a linebacker, try before you commit.

I've been camping for 40 years and down quality has never been better than this. My son and I both got the long versions on sale and we're thrilled. Warm past the rating, packs small, and the Alpine Red is easy to spot in a full tent.

Getting this into its compression sack takes real effort, though I suspect that's the price of 850 fill and a light shell. Once out it lofted instantly and was warm down to freezing with just a base layer. The sale price made an easy decision easier.

First two trips I found feathers poking through the shell constantly and one seam lost visible down. Customer service was helpful but for a bag at this tier I expected better. Sticking with three stars only because it was genuinely warm while it worked.

Swapped my old synthetic bag for this and cut two pounds from my pack. Worth it. Warm, tiny, well made.
