Mountain Hardwear Women's Stretch Ozonic Jacket – Recycled Waterproof Rain Shell

Most rain shells feel like wearing a plastic bag. This one stretches, so I can climb, reach, and scramble without the hem riding up. Got caught in a serious downpour in Scotland and stayed bone dry underneath. The recycled fabric is a bonus. Worth every penny of the full price, and I paid a fraction of it.

Packs small, weighs almost nothing, and kept me dry through a soggy week in the Olympics. The hood fits over my helmet and adjusts well. Pit zips would make it perfect, but ventilation is decent otherwise.

Dry in a storm, stretchy, light. No complaints.

The waterproofing is genuinely excellent and the stretch is a real improvement over my old shell. My only gripe is the fabric crinkles loudly with every movement. On a quiet misty morning it felt disruptive. Function over form wins, but be prepared.

I've owned rain jackets for forty years and this is among the best. The stretch shoulders make trekking poles feel natural, and the hood stays put in wind without blinding me. It's cut generously enough to layer a fleece underneath. My daughter bought one after borrowing mine.

Finally a women's shell that isn't boxy. The tailoring is flattering and the stretch means no restriction when I lift my arms. Waterproofing held through a two-hour storm. Cuffs could be a touch tighter.

This jacket lives in my daypack now. It's so light and packs so small that there's no excuse to leave it behind, and it has saved me three times this month alone. Fully waterproof so far. The color is also gorgeous in person.
