If you're climbing and bivying, this bag is dialed—the cut works with a harness on and it doesn't fight you in tight spaces. For general backpacking it's a bit cramped by design. Know your use case and you'll be happy.

Long bivy on the route, temperatures right around freezing with wind. This bag kept me comfortable the whole night and packed away in minutes at dawn. The 850 fill has incredible loft for the weight. You can tell it was designed by people who actually climb.

Performance in the alpine is superb and the warmth is honest. Just be aware there's no room for lounging—it's a technical sleeping system, not a camp bag. I keep my old bag for car camping.

We split a pair for our Rainier trip and both slept warm at Camp Muir. The unisex long fit works for me at 6'1" and for her at 5'10". Zips are bomber. This brand never disappoints.

Warmth, weight, and build are all five stars. The nitpick: the zipper pull is tiny and hard to grab with cold hands. Otherwise this bag is exactly what I wanted for summer alpine starts.
