I'm 54 and hard on clothing. These have survived brambles, chain saw work, and countless trail miles without a single tear. The stretch fabric is a big improvement over stiff old cotton cargo shorts, and the knife pocket fits my folding saw perfectly. They wrinkle a bit out of the dryer, but that's my only nitpick.

Quality construction and the pocket layout is genuinely useful. Just a bit heavier than my synthetic hiking shorts on hot summer days. Better for spring and fall.

Most cargo shorts either sag at the seat or pinch when I sit. The stretch cotton and articulated fit on these solve both problems. I carry a multitool, phone, map, and snacks on day hikes and nothing bounces around. The crossover waist closure stays put under a pack belt. Ordered a second pair in another color at this price.

The stretch cotton is nice but the sizing is way off — my normal 34 felt like a 31. Exchanging was easy but check the size chart carefully before ordering.

Look clean enough for errands, tough enough for the crag. Knife pocket is a great touch. Solid value at half off.

Bought these for my husband's birthday and he basically lives in them now. He says they're the most comfortable shorts he's ever owned and loves all the pockets. Might grab another pair for Father's Day.

Every pocket is placed where your hands naturally go. The fabric stretches when you step over logs and snaps right back. Dries reasonably quick after a creek crossing. Wish they came in more colors.
