Bought this closeout expecting a decent deal and got way more. The Larkspur is warm for its weight, breathes surprisingly well on uphill pushes, and shrugs off drizzle. I've worn it climbing in October and to the grocery store equally. The fit is trim but not restrictive over a midweight base layer. Discontinued or not, this is fantastic gear. Snapped it up at half off and I'd call it the bargain of my season.

The Pinneco insulation is legitimately warm and the water resistance has handled misty mornings on the trail. My only nitpick is the cuffs — I wish they had adjustability. Otherwise the fit, the weight, and the quality are all excellent, especially at closeout pricing.
Packs down small in my carry-on, wears like a favorite cardigan, and blocks wind on the coast. I'm 61 and I don't do extreme sports anymore, but this jacket does everything I need. My husband keeps borrowing it. Might order a men's version for him.
The jacket itself is well made and warm. But I normally wear a medium and needed a large — the cut is quite trim through the shoulders and chest. Size up and you'll be happy. Returning and reordering was easy at least.
Switched to synthetic after my down got soaked on a soggy trip. This one kept insulating through drizzle and dried overnight in the tent. The hood fits over a beanie. Zippers are smooth and the pockets are actually usable. Very glad I caught this closeout.
Quality seems fine, but this is genuinely a light mid-layer, not a standalone jacket. In 30-degree weather with just a tee underneath I was cold. Fine under a shell, but that's not how I planned to use it. Returning it.

I've worn the Larkspur for spring ski touring, summer alpine starts, and fall hikes and it's handled all of it. Breathes better than my old fleece combo. Warmth-to-weight ratio is excellent. It still looks new after a full season of abuse. Sad it's discontinued, glad I got two.
