Big Agnes Shield 2 Accessory Vestibule

Added this vestibule for a January Denali training trip and it completely changed how we use the tent. Cooked under cover during a two-day storm, kept all our skins and boots out of the snow, and entry stayed dry. At $89.99 it's a fraction of what similar solutions cost.

Swallowed two expedition packs and boots with room to spare. Pitches fast with clear instructions and integrates seamlessly with the Shield 2. Feels bombproof.

Weathered 40 mph gusts with this vestibule up and the main tent stayed rock solid. Zippers are smooth even with cold fingers. Only reason it's not five stars is that the pitch adds a few extra minutes to setup.

Down from $249.95, this was an easy purchase. Covered entry means no more snow dumping into the tent when coming and going. Mountaineering quality throughout.

Adds real protected storage and a covered door for the Shield 2. Packed size is reasonable and the material matches the tent's bombproof feel. Would love slightly clearer color-coding on the poles.

The storage space and covered entry are genuinely valuable on multi-day winter trips. That said, the first-time setup had me reading the instructions twice, and it's a lot of fabric to manage in wind. Once staked properly it performs well.

We cooked, dried gear, and staged under this vestibule through a full week of Patagonian weather. Never leaked, never flapped. Big Agnes quality.

On my second trip out, the seam at the pole sleeve tore while tensioning in cold weather. The design and coverage are excellent when it's intact, but durability at the seams worries me. Warranty claim is in progress.

The Shield 2 alone is cramped for expeditions — this vestibule fixes that. Plenty of room for boots, ropes, and a stove. It packs a bit bulky, but for winter use I'll take the coverage.
