Yes — with a technique adjustment. The I-Beam aluminum shaft resists bending better than standard wire stakes. In hard or rocky ground, angle the stake slightly away from your tent, drive it with a soft mallet or rock, and back it out with the cord loop pull. For extremely rocky soil, pair Dirt Daggers with rocks as deadman anchors.

I've been backpacking for 30 years and gone through cheap aluminum stakes that bend on the first rock. The I-Beam construction on these Dirt Daggers makes a real difference — they're noticeably stiffer than standard Y-stakes at a similar weight. Drove six of them into hard-packed ground with a rock and none of them bent. Held perfectly through 25 mph gusts overnight. The pull cord loops are a nice touch too. At $10 for a pack of six, it's a no-brainer upgrade.
Used these on a wet shoulder-season trip in the Cascades. The soil was soft and muddy and they still kept my tent taut all night. They're featherlight, which is exactly what I wanted for my UL kit. One stake did get dinged when I hit a buried rock, but that's on the ground, not the stake. Would buy again.
Strength and weight are excellent and they go in easily. But the narrow profile means they can be hard to yank out of packed dirt without the cord loop. Plan accordingly.

Packaging was fine but one of the six stakes had a noticeable curve out of the box. The other five seem solid and perform well in loose soil. Disappointing QC for a premium stake.
Straight pull-out in soft sand the first night, but burying them at an angle solved it completely. In regular forest soil they're fantastic — stiff, light, easy in and out. Three sizes available is handy for matching soil type. Happy overall.
