Mountain Hardwear Threshold Men's 3-Layer Waterproof Rain Pants

Guided trips in Washington rain all fall with these. Bone dry inside, never clammy. The 3/4 side zips are clutch for boots.

I fish year-round in the Pacific Northwest and these replaced a pair of budget rain pants that soaked through in an hour. The 3-layer fabric sheds water all day and breathes while I'm hiking in. The full side zips let me pull them on over wading boots without sitting down in mud. They pack into their own pocket, which lives in my truck console. Worth every penny.

Heavy-duty without being a sauna. Side zips go three-quarters down so getting them over boots is easy. Slightly stiff at first but they've broken in nicely.

These are tough, waterproof, and the zips are great. Just not as packable as I hoped — they take up more space than my old ultralights. Fine if weight isn't critical.

Wore these for a soggy week in the Adirondacks. Zero leaks, and the breathability kept me from stewing on climbs. The waist cinchers actually hold over a pack belt.

Half off and 3-layer construction? I was skeptical but these are the real deal. Sat on wet granite, knelt in mud, hiked through horizontal rain — nothing got through. My old pair cost twice as much and did half as much.
