Big Agnes Men's Barrows Jacket - Insulated Breathable Backcountry Mid-Layer

Wore this on a November backpacking trip in the Sangre de Cristos and it was exactly right. The body-mapped insulation means I never overheated while climbing, and it warmed right back up at rest stops. Packs down small too.

Bought it at half off and honestly it's worth close to full price. Fit is true to size, hood fits over a beanie. Only wish the chest pocket were a hair bigger for my phone.

I've tried synthetic mid-layers from three other brands and this is the one that stays in my pack. Breathes on the uphills, blocks wind surprisingly well on ridgelines, and the fabric sheds light precip like they claim.

Light, warm, and it doesn't feel like a trash bag when I sweat. Highly recommend.

Solid construction but I had to size up twice to get room for a base layer underneath. Return process was easy at least. Once I got the right size it's been fine.

Great layering piece from October through April here in Colorado. It's not a standalone winter jacket but that's not what it's for. Zippers feel durable and the stitching has held up through a full season.

Breathability is the whole game for touring and this nails it. I keep it on for most of the climb now instead of stripping layers at the trailhead. The stretch panels under the arms make a big difference for pole planting.

Warm and lightweight, no complaints about performance. The styling is a bit boxy for my taste and the color was darker than the photos. Functional gear though.

My kids bought me this for my birthday and it's become my daily wear from October through March. Warm enough for yard chores, walks with the dog, and the occasional hike. Washes well too — been through the machine a dozen times with no pilling.

Packs to the size of a burrito and adds real warmth. Waterproof-resistant coating handled a surprise drizzle on the Continental Divide Trail just fine. Would buy again at this sale price.
