Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL1 Bikepack Tent - Award-Winning Ultralight 1-Person Bikepacking Shelter

This tent is a marvel of engineering. Set up took me fifteen minutes the first time and five minutes by the third night. The TipLok buckles are genius — one hand, done. The awning vestibule is genuinely usable even in light rain, and I've had it through two storms with zero leaks.

Coming from a heavier tent this thing feels like a feather in my panniers. Interior space is generous for a 1P — I can actually sit up and read. Living in the desert Southwest, I love the massive ventilation. Just an exceptional shelter.

Everything about the design is top notch and the weight is unreal. But with a floor this light you absolutely need a footprint or careful site selection. I scuffed mine on gravel the first trip. Now I'm more careful and it's been flawless.

Did a 5-day bikepacking loop through Moab and this tent made camp the best part of each day. Sets up fast when you're exhausted, packs down small enough to vanish into a frame bag, and the vestibules are huge. Ten out of ten.

No doubt it's a well-made tent and the awning vestibules are cool. But even on sale it's a big chunk of change, and I wonder if I'll baby it too much to actually enjoy using it. Performance so far has been leak-free and quick to pitch.

The HV (high volume) is no joke — I'm 6'2" and I fit with room to spare. Freestanding design makes it easy to position on rocky bikepack sites. Stakes are tiny but held fine in hard-packed desert soil. This is my fourth Big Agnes tent and they keep getting better.

Loved the tent for the first two trips, then the main zipper started catching and separating. Customer service is sending a replacement slider, which is good, but for this price I expected more out of the box. Otherwise the design itself is genuinely great.

Pitch time is under five minutes now. The bikepack-specific short pole sections actually stow better in my bags than standard poles. Rain fly tensioning is easy with the TipLok system. Couldn't be happier.

Silnylon requires a bit of care — seam tips, proper tension, etc. Once you get the hang of it, it's an amazing shelter. My first night in 20 mph gusts it barely moved. Knocking one star for the learning curve.

At 64 I decided weight matters more than it used to, and this tent delivered on a three-week tour down the Pacific coast. Easy on the old knees to set up, roomy enough to sit up in, and stayed dry through coastal fog and one proper rainstorm. Beautifully made.

Rode the White Rim and pitched this thing in gusts that had my buddy's tent flapping like a flag. The Copper Spur stayed taut all night. The awning mode is also just plain fun.

Light, spacious, fast setup — all true. My only gripes: the included stakes are so light they bend if you're not careful, and the stuff sack is a tight squeeze until you get the fold technique down. The tent itself is fantastic.
